Conceived on the initiative and invitation of Anna Guðjónsdóttir, the event brings together two distinguished scholars whose perspectives open up further dimensions of the themes and questions surrounding the exhibition. We are particularly pleased and honoured as a gallery to welcome Prof. Petra Lange-Berndt and Prof. Dietmar Rübel to our space for this occasion.
The event will take place within the exhibition itself, making the works and spatial installation of Dreams of Embers, Days of Ashes the immediate setting for an evening of reflection, exchange, and dialogue.
For Anna Guðjónsdóttir, exhibitions are also platforms for interdisciplinary exchange. At her invitation, friends, artists, scholars, and thinkers will contribute a series of talks, performances, and other events over the course of the exhibition, extending it beyond the visual and opening the gallery as a space for encounter and conversation.
Volcanoes as Political Landscapes marks the beginning of this extensive accompanying programme, and we very much look forward to welcoming you — to this special evening, to the exhibition itself, and to the events that will follow.
