TOM REICHSTEIN contemporary is a contemporary art gallery based in Hamburg’s Oberhafen. Founded in 2020, the gallery has established a strong presence in the city’s art scene - while steadily expanding its reach across Germany, Europe, and beyond.

With a program that combines emerging voices and established positions, the gallery maintains long-term collaborations with a core group of artists and regularly initiates new partnerships for specific projects and exhibitions. The focus lies on artistic clarity, material intelligence, and a sharp sense for the present.

Rooted in Hamburg but internationally active, TOM REICHSTEIN contemporary takes part in selected art fairs such as Art SG in Singapore and Art Brussels, and maintains close ties with curators, institutions, and collectors worldwide.

The gallery’s exhibitions are driven by content, precision, and attitude - developed in close dialogue with the artists and shaped by the specific potential of the space. Beyond traditional formats, the gallery also hosts interventions, talks, dinners, and collaborations that extend the idea of what a contemporary gallery can be.

TOM REICHSTEIN contemporary stands for an open, ambitious, and connected approach to contemporary art - anchored in Hamburg, engaged with the world.

  • Oberhafen

Our gallery in Hamburg’s Oberhafen district is located in a 300 sqm former warehouse at the end of Stockmeyerstraße – in the historic freight yard, just steps away from the Deichtorhallen. Embedded in a creative environment of brick, railway tracks, and forward-thinking ideas, this site marks the informal endpoint of Hamburg’s “Kunstmeile” (Art Mile), which begins at the Galerie der Gegenwart and culminates here.

The industrial setting provides space for bold gestures, new formats, and experimental exhibitions. In this raw and open context, contemporary art unfolds its full energy – direct, discursive, and alive.

  • Townhouse

Our second exhibition space is located in a late 19th-century townhouse in the distinguished Rotherbaum district. With 400 sqm of gallery space, featuring a slender white façade, ornate stucco ceilings, and a classical interior layout, the villa offers a striking contrast to the contemporary art on display.

This location stands for calm, focus, and architectural refinement – a setting where subtle works resonate as powerfully as bold artistic statements. Here, classical grandeur meets the present – opening new dimensions for art.
